For those not aware of this series of novels it details the career of Harry Dresden , Chicago's only professional wizard. People you although meet are Mouse (a fu dog), Mister (a cat that allows Harry to share his life), Bob (an intellect spirit with a passion for porn), various werewolves, vampires, deities, mythical creatures and on one memorable occasion "flaming poo flinging monkey demons". That's not counting the Chicago Police department that he consults for. I really cannot recommend this series enough. Funny, thoughtful, and on occasion pretty thought provoking. Give Harry a try, he may surprise you.

I've seen the tv series (well a couple of episodes) it was very...unique! I might give the books a try though.

the series took it all out of context and cocked up a lot of the concepts. no Mister the cat for a start. As is usually the case books > tv / film.

Oooooh they sound good! I always love a bit of sci-fi that doesn't take itself uber-seriously. Thanks for the heads-up! x
