Hi lovelies!
I've always wanted to try reading comics but never quite known where to start!
I've never been sure if there's a particular starting point (like you get with series of books) or if you can just read one and go on to a different one.
So, any tips on starting out? Any good ones I should know about? Should I read the ones that I loved in film-version (Sin City, Kickass, Hellboy, Avengers Assemble etc ..)
(urillusions - I don't really want to read any of yours, yours don't look like my kinda thing)
Any help appreciated! x

Here's a few suggestions from the great UK comics. 200AD: Rogue Trooper. Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Slaine, Nemesis the Warlock. Lobo Marshal Law. Now I cannot recommend Dredd, Lobo, or the marshal enough. Of the three, start with Law. Any comic where the tagline is "I hunt heroes, not found any yet" and features a dystopian post apocalyptic scenario where super heroes are products of "doktor shokk labs" created top fight in a war that no longer exists and have to try and fit in to normal society has to be worth a read. (Batman and Robin type heroes running protection rackets, superman in the background of one panel trying to shoot up and having the needle bend on his skin are memorable images). Lobo is just flat out hilarious. picture old school wolverine attitude with a mai-tai in his hand and no social conscience at all.
